Visitor Visa

A visitor visa does not allow you to work or study in New Zealand. In some cases you may be able to study, however the course duration must be less than 14 weeks.


Work Visa

There are various ways in which one can obtain a work visa in New Zealand.

• If you are a partner of a New Zealand resident or citizen.
• If you have completed a NZ qualification upon successful completion of the course you maybe eligible for an open work visa

The requirements under each category differ however, there are some common requirements like health and character that one has to satisfy in order to be granted a work visa in New Zealand.
In all cases a person must be able to satisfy Immigration New Zealand that he/she is healthy and will not be a burden on the New Zealand health system. Also that the applicant is conviction free.
There are specific forms that are required to be completed by every applicant depending upon the duration of the visa applied for, for medicals. They also usually have to provide a police clearance certificate from their country of origin and may have to provide police clearances from any other countries if they have lived in that country for 12 months or more in the past 10 years.


Skilled Migrant

As the name suggests this category is meant for people who possess particular skills that are required in New Zealand. Points are awarded to an applicant based on his age, qualifications, work experience, offer of skilled employment in New Zealand, family ties in New Zealand etc.
Based on the points the first step in this process is to complete and submit an online form – Expression of Interest.
Depending upon the score the application form then may or may not get selected and Immigration New Zealand then invites to you apply for residence.
This category is mainly for all those people who are well qualified and experienced in their field and their skills are required in New Zealand.


Family Category

Immigration New Zealand recognizes the importance of family and extended family members. Immigration New Zealand has various streams under the Family category where you can qualify for residence if you are sponsored by a family member who is a resident or citizen of New Zealand.
Under this category one can qualify for residence under the following –
• Family Category – Parent
• Family Category – Partnership


Refugee Category

Refugee Category
Applicants who are approved refugees are able to apply for residence under the Refugee category. MARG Consulting can assist you with all temporary and residence applications under this category.
Families of Refugees
If you are an approved refugee and have obtained your residence under the refugee category, you may qualify to sponsor one of your family members for residence. You may either qualify under Tier 1 or Tier 2 category.
